I got a month covid leave and the rest was at a reduced rate of pay


but I stayed home until I got both vaccines and the two weeks after. Losing 1600 $ was way better than costing my family 10 grand in funeral expense

My county (admittedly smaller population than Kansas, but larger than a bunch of states -- looking at you WY, VT, etc) has dropped COVID deaths to near zero. Only a couple of deaths in the last month. Even scaled up to KS population equivalent, it would be single digit deaths.

And the how/why isn't a mystery. First dose vaccine rate is now 85+%; completely vaccinated rate is now 75+% (for 12+ years old). That'll do it.

If it weren't a contagious disease, and if the virus didn't mutate every time it replicated, I'd be more likely to say "live and let die" but alas both of those things are true and so their selfish stupid behavior endangers others and it really pisses me off. Fucking assholes!

I don't like the dismissal of these senseless deaths - as you said, there are the mutation concerns, and these ass clowns do have family and friends who mourn their deaths. I prefer to keep fighting to get these folk vaccinated, with education and incentives. I have been successful in helping four holdouts get vaccinated although I admit none of them are fanatic Trump humpers.

7. imagine dying of Covid KNOWING it could have been prevented by a couple of shots

or being one of their loved ones or friends.....I cannot even imagine being the hospital folk who have to take care of these folk, so fucking senseless. Reading about it made me call a friend with health concerns who has been hesitant to be vaccinated, and I am SO happy that she told me she has decided to get vaccinated.
