This is not a case of innocence. Just reading the Supreme Court summary of the testimony - things he admitted to - makes me ill.

He is being released on a technicality. It is an important constitutional principle involved - and as to the principle, I agree it should be reversed. But on the facts in this case - there are grounds (without shreddng the 5th amendment right against self-incrimination - to have affirmed the decision.

Back in 2005, prosecutor Bruce Castor came to an arrangement with Cosby and his lawyers that Pennsylvania would not criminally prosecute Cosby for any of his rapey activity in exchange for his testimony in the civil suits being pursued against him by various women.

Pennsylvania tried to get around this arrangement by claiming they weren't bound by Castor's grant of immunity. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court didn't see it that way, and Cosby gets to walk free.

Department of It's-a-small-world-after-all: Bruce Castor was one of the attorneys who defended the former guy in his second impeachment trial. Funny old world.

is not to blame for this. It’s perfectly reasonable for him to have done what he did. The next DA banked on not getting busted for reneging on a deal and he eventually was. He had to know what he did was shaky.

Once he dies, his estate will be able to begin to sell his work again. Michael's been very valuable dead. I bet Cosby will be the same way.
