MSNBC’s Claire McCaskill: Once Trump Org. Goes Belly Up, Trump Will Be “Out There Selling Pillows” [VIDEO]


On Wednesday, news broke that charges could be delivered tomorrow against the Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg. While Trump is not likely to be charged tomorrow, his long-time company is in serious jeopardy.

And what would Trump do if his real estate company dissolved? That what the question Nicolle Wallace asked her panel tonight. Commentator Claire McCaskill hilariously predicted that he’d end up selling pillows.

The former Missouri senator began, “Well, first of all, we know what the ex-president will do. He will lie. He will try to pretend that this is some unfairness on the part of the criminal justice system. But we also know what he cares about. And what he cares about is his branding. He has built the brand and the Trump Organization over decades with the help of the man that will be indicted tomorrow.”





McCaskill continued:

“So, all of that is really going to hurt Donald Trump, whether he admits it or not, because his business will never be looked on as a shining success again by the people who need to see it as a positive, the bankers, the funders, the investors. He’s done. He is done as a businessman. He’s going to be out there selling pillows in about ten minutes.”


For his entire life, Trump has always had his company to fall back on. If that goes away, his fortunes will change dramatically. Like McCaskill says, though, he will likely find a way to squeeze some money out of his supporters.

...and a couple things i can access not completely public, the BEST case is that T***p doubled his net assets in 31 years.
That's 2.2% annually. This is over a period when index funds averaged 9.8%, and commercial real estate average 7.4%.
So, the BEST case is he's a rotten businessman.
He could have done NOTHING & been worth $4 billion. With no debt & no bankruptcies.

Everyone except Russians and others who still think they can use him in some way to extract money or power to damage the US.

Even if more serious charges are brought, Teflon Don’s company or brand still won’t be taken down.

world. I think it more than feasible that Trump was making deals everywhere...tens of millions for a critical policy change...advance payments for administration approvals...ability to park money all over the world...TO getting a taste of deals in Turkey, israel, SA, Qatar, Philipenes, etc.

Crime organizations don't put all their eggs in one basket.

They were not interested in his real estate business. They were interested in his connections and influence and position, where he could do them some good. If he has lost that position and influence, he is nothing to them, and they wouldn't offer him peanuts on a plane.

He's a Grifter. The Big Con is the only thing that excites him. Pillows would only interest him if there was a scam involved.

He lives to find marks to buy his bullshit and do things to enrich or entertain him because of it. Doesn't matter if it's beating up protesters, destroying the capitol building, killing people or giving him money.
