Meghan McCain will be announcing her resignation from ABC's The View on today's show, DailyMail.com has exclusively learned.

The 36-year-old is leaving the daytime talk show after four seasons and with two years remaining on her contract.

'Meghan will announce her resignation on Thursday's show,' a Disney source told DailyMail.com.

The source added that her co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, 'are not yet aware that Meghan has resigned'.

'We have tried to keep her, but she is adamant that now is the right time for her to leave,' the source said.

'She will finish at the end of July 2021.'

I can't recall it ever being useful.

They'll crowbar some other conservative in there for the "controversy" of it all. The only press the show gets is when Meghan says something especially stupid.

I can't believe it wasn't cancelled when Whoopi explained to us what "rape rape" was. How she's still on the show after that. If that came out of Meghan's mouth, she would've been done.

One of my favorite View jokes came from 30 Rock. When Jack is explaining to Liz how she's about to ruin her career, he says, "Soon, all you'll have left is sending topical menopause jokes to Joy Behar by fax."
