1. Glad nothing worse than this happened ... scary situation ...

Given the totality of the evidence of the video, it appears as though this (epitome of white trash) woman's kid(s) lied to her and said they were under attack from the (presumably black) kids on the playground ... at the end you hear her admonishing one of them for misleading her.

I dunno ... she is clearly a fucked up racist bitch but I'm not sure there's enough there to throw her in the hoosegow given she didn't get in any kids face with the knife, nor appear to brandish the weapon, and seemed to believe (wrongly, it would seem) she needed to defend her own kid(s) ... though they were clearly the little terrorists in the situation.

The reprobation of society is most definitely in order, but I can maybe see why the cops might arrive at the conclusion they don't quite have enough to arrest her over this.

For better or worse, it's not illegal to call black people the N word ... not even children, and not even when you have a small knife in your hand. If there was evidence she came close to a child and raised the weapon and made a direct threat, then it'd be an easy call.

I WISH they could arrest her, to be clear. Hopefully they'll find SOMETHING to charge her with.

She may've JUST skirted the line of illegality, though.

I see it being described as 'chasing kids with a knife' but not seeing evidence that's what actually happened.

Conversely, it actually seems like the kids on the playground got the armed idiot lady to retreat to the parking lot rather quickly.

My interpretation is that she got a text or call from her asshole kids mis-describing a 'situation' that they'd gotten themselves into with their stupid racist mouths, showed up all gung-ho with her little knife, thinking she needed to physically defend them from a 'gang' attack ... then soon found herself having to defend her idiot kids use of the N-word (with a 'clever' attempt at a re-definition of word ) ... and then she retreated as the reality of what was going on began to dawn on her ... she actually seemed to apologize towards the black kids at the end there, and then yelled at her stupid kid(s).

I realize this is a 'generous' interpretation in some ways, and I can see not wanting to grant any semblance of leeway, but that seems like it's about what went down there after watching the vid 3 times.

If there was solid evidence of chasing, I'd like think she'd be in jail ... but who knows.

She sucks though, period.

The sticky part is that nobody was physically hurt and there's not video of her getting into a kids face or making an overtly threatening action.

And I'm not quite sure I'm ready for a USA where you go to jail just for being a racist without committing an actual act of violence, or at least displaying violent intent directly towards an individual.

Part of me wants to lock this crazy woman up for the affront to my sensibilities (at minimum), but another part isn't sure about going down that road, for fear the same logic could be used against people I'd support.

No matter what she deserves every bit of social reprobation that can be mustered, cause she freaking sucks ... I understand defending your children (even when misguided as seems to be the case here) but she came right out the gate with racial slurs, wildly unnecessarily. I mean, these are KIDS .

She's freaking crazy and/or really, really dumb, and the evidence suggests 'both'.

And seems she has 3 (count 'em 3) offspring. Oh, joy.

9. I think brandishing a knife was what raised the level to hate crime

People can spew whatever rubbish they want as long as they're not threatening people with a weapon. She was.

My own dad was a bigot who'd say the most outrageous shit, but I never saw him be rude, patronizing, dismissive, or any other negative thing to a POC. He taught me to look more at actions instead of words.

Her actions went beyond a racist screamfest. She was so out of control she might have hurt one of those kids. That's the kind of thing that needs to be discouraged.

But if that's all there is, I'm not sure that qualifies as 'threatening people with a weapon'.

We don't prosecute crimes based on a theoretical like 'she might've hurt one of those kids' ... and I'm not sure that we should. Had she said 'I'm going to kill you!' or the like it'd be a different situation.

I don't disagree about discouraging such things, but I'm just not quite sure this rises to the level of criminality based on any law I'm familiar with, based on the video evidence from Martin Roland's show.

I am, OTOH, very certain that she is deserving of severe social reprobation ... which, quite honestly, can be worse punishment than an anonymous 6 months in the joint.

I'm just not sure there IS, is what I'm saying.

As an aside, seems the cops think they can fucking shoot anybody for anything (esp. if you're a POC but this is not exclusively an issue for them, it's just a much higher probability), so I'm not sure I'm willing to defer to 'what the cops would do' in any given situation as some kind of moral compass.

They'll just have to wait until she makes an arse of herself on video. My guess is that the wait won't be long. I don't know what her problem is but I can pretty much guarantee it's not being addressed.

Being booked into the county lockup is a traumatic process for everybody, but especially for entitled people. Chances are that alone would be just the wakeup call she needs.
