I just called Toyota and they have issued a

statement (to the media) that they will not be donating to candidates who didn't support the election certification. She asked if I would like her to read it to me and I said yes so she did.

I asked her if they had posted it on their website and she said they hadn't. I suggested she tell a supervisor it might be a good idea to do so. She said she would. I know it'll need to go up the ladder from there.

The young lady I spoke with was very, very polite and comforting. She couldn't have been nicer.

The phone number is: 1-800-331-4331.

.

They'll slowly sneak them in again, when the heat dies down.

38. I'll Take That Bet

They now know that there are people who watch this stuff.
For a measly $55k (price if a Lexus) they did brand damage.
PR & marketing executives are likely having a fit over this.
This is an easy promise to keep, and $55k, much of it to bigmouths without much clout, wasn't money well spent, anyway.
They'll do just as well, or better, keeping the money. Or throwing it at dems, just as a mea culpa buys some forgiveness.
Brand, as I'm sure you know, is everything to an automaker. The least damage triggers a cost/benefit review.
There's no way that Lexus worth of cash was getting them a benefit close to covering the damage just done.
The C/B says cut them off, permanently.

2. It was all over the news yesterday

But I’m sure their CSRs appreciate being harassed about it.

I’ve seen a lot of scolding going on ‘round here - a good deal of which is totally undeserved.

6. Never worked as a CSR?

Making them read the announcement to them. Complaining it wasn’t on the website. Telling them to tell their manager to fix it. All information that was widely announced yesterday.
You can be treated politely by a CSR and still be rude. I guarantee they didn’t appreciate the call, no matter how nice they were about it.

27. It's their job to answer calls like this. If they didn't like that call, they probably

don't like most of the calls they get all day. That's not the OP's problem.

That is the job of a csr.

4. I look at it this way

The more ‘harassment’ the CSRs hear from the public, the more likely they are to pass along these complaints and add commentary about the considerable volume of calls.

The OP? Unless you can point to the exact abusive language, you could just let it go. Are you *really* going to berate the OP for not being 100% up on the news?

9. The caller called to complain about something that had already been fixed

Obviously didn't believe the CSR's answer, and had them read the statement to them.
Then complained it wasn't on the website.
Then told them to tell their manager to fix it.
Then encouraged others to do the same thing.

But hey, if that's easier than reading breaking news on news websites...

21. The more phone calls they get, the less likely they are to go back to funding

treasonous bastards.

And no one was harassing the CSR. Who are you to say the CSR isn't just as eager as the caller for Toyota to stop funding treason, and who are you to say the CSR was not thrilled to add the caller to the list of people who were making the upper management sweat?

And yes, I have worked in CS. This, for me, would have been no big deal. And probably lots more fun than hearing about people's problems with their cars.

She might have been happy to be able to give out good news for a change.

Despite what you think, not everyone is glued to breaking news all day.

10. Nah

I worked phones for a very brief stint - if you want your complaint escalated, you have to do it yourself. Ask for the next level up. If you try to complain to the rep, it will be forgotten about as soon as you hang up.

Honestly, I wouldn't even have known how to pass a message along even if I had ever cared about one enough to want to.

11. AZSkiffyGeek....

There was ABSOLUTELY NO harassment by me to the CSR!

I was a single mother who worked three jobs to raise a child with a disability. I've worked in fast food, retail, and even cleaned houses until I was able to put myself through college. I would NEVER be anything but completely and totally polite to a CSR who I KNOW only has the power to pass on my message.

As I said, she was very, very nice as was I. Calling and boycotting works.
