(54,335 posts)Its one thing to show Bugs Bunny on a cartoon station. Its quite another to claim the Easter Bunny is real on a station calling itself a news station.

(15,379 posts)It's not saying that Trump is wrong, which they will probably never do. Depending on which side you're one, you're going to put your own spin on it. We're going to look at it as, "Whoa, look at FOX going against TFG." His cult will look at it as a reminder of who cost them their leader.

In true bothsidersism way.

(205,161 posts)But never have used that title for the former guy unless it's an actual title of an article. Those three actually won their elections to earn the title - not to mention that I voted for all three of them.

But, those were all popularly elected Presidents. There needs to be some additional bonus to the honor of serving a popular majority.

(14,169 posts)Americans are unique in that. In Canada, and I assume, in other democracies, we would refer to a former Prime Minister as......wait for it........ former Prime Minister.
I guess its a nod of respect, but I always thought it was a bit odd.

(16,357 posts)They want to be able to carry TFG's blather without appearing to endorse his unfounded accusations, in the hope that the voting machine companies won't be able to sue THEM based on HIS claims. Will it work? IANAL, so I have no idea.
That said, I love seeing this happen on Fox Noise, regardless of the reasoning behind it. I feel like his credibility is being slowly and steadily chipped away at, and this is one more tiny chip.

(2,690 posts)he will leave behind a strong legacy of divisiveness, hatred, racism, ignorance and willful delusion that may well signal the end of the American dream. The Founders all believed in a Republic whose citizenry was well educated and well informed. They would have considered a high school diploma as evidence of education, and a trained and open mind seeking out diversity of opinion as being well informed. Boy, were they wrong!
75,000,000 voted for Flubbo the Loser a second time. I cannot see that as anything but a sign of hopeless fragmentation and ultimate balkanization, not on ethnic but on intellectual and moral grounds.
The Left argues among itself over moral and ethical issues -- because the Left takes those issues seriously.
The Right isnt burdened by such things and so, like a person deprived of conscience (or who has simply shucked off conscience) can lie with impunity, praising the Lord of Love while characterizing a murderous mob as everyday tourists, dissuading their own constituents form getting vaccinated against a disease that has killed 600,000 Americans in a year and a half, passing voting restrictive laws in response to a never-existing problem with massive voter fraud.
The 75 million worship at the altar of a sociopath and his paranoid-delusionary ministers, while those ministers and their plutocratic donors all laugh out loud amongst themselves about the suffering caused by their governmental negligence and by their outright deliberate attacks on the non-wealthy. (No, no, no, no, said Ex=Senator and marginally human being Rick Santorum, we do not want to do the will of the people. And the GOP voters all nudge each other with a drooling grin and say Now theres a man who knows what Americas all about!)
I havent given up on Old Glory -- but I may, after the 2022 elections, if things do not go as well as they should for the Democrats.

(14,169 posts)Surely he is one of the most, if not THE most, harmful to their business reputation. He continues to thumb his nose at them, and is the biggest reason that a majority of Republican voters think he won.
