Is Manchin ALSO against a filibuster carve out for Voting Rights.

I know he wants to keep the filibuster.
I know he’s mentioned maybe going back to a talking filibuster.
But has he been asked if he’d be willing to do a carve out if he got the changes he wants to either of the House voting rights bills?

12. We are not royally screwed.

Please stop with that message.

Is it fair? No.
Is it going to be easy? No.
Does telling people over a year before an election that we are screwed help in any way? NO!

2. He's against any modifications tot the current law whatsoever.

And he's partly right. If we can say "we're just going to change it this way so we can get what we want." Do we expect the other side to then say "well, okay, since you only did it to get what you want, we'll refrain from getting what we want because it means changing the filibuster."

7. As did the Democrats

Manchin opposed both changes.

He’s made pretty clear that he would support some filibuster reforms if they came up for a vote… but would not support a “nuclear option” to force that vote.

9. They will do whatever they want if they come back to power. Did it for the judges, will do it again

The best way to keep them from coming to power is to make voting free and fair, and pass laws that the ppl want.
The For The People Act is very popular

5. He is on record supporting a modification to the rule

Recently leaked audio of Manchin speaking to donors, he stated he is being pressured and would support modifying the filibuster to require 41 senators present and holding the floor (speaking) in order to sustain a filibuster.

That’s not the same as a carve out exception, but a hopeful sign nonetheless.

8. Manchin is a member of ALEC

ALEC was founded and funded by the Koch brothers. He is going to do what ever they want.
