Ways to dupe the rednecks to vote against their own best interests. Most Republicans couldn’t care less about gun rights. It’s a means to their end.

Collect all the guns in Chicago first. If the killings stop, you have proof it’s the guns. Until you have proof, don’t come for my guns. They have never killed anyone.

6. The gun violence is the symptom and damage multiplier

The root cause is a crumbling education system, lack of opportunity, and lack of a social safety net, not to mention the problems with mental health care.

We're broken.

The guns multiply the damage, they aren't the reason the bastards start shooting. We need gun reform, but we need a whole lot more. Particularly with the rise of ghost guns and 3D printed gun frames, supply side restrictions are going to have limited impact (not to mention the 400+ million already in circulation).

I'll wait for the signed inventory list from the police department after you turn them in.

It certainly has to do with guns and having easy access to guns. To argue otherwise is plain stupid. It is also, as others have said, about the impulse to commit violence, and what causes that in the first place.

As with you, I have owned guns for years. I have never harmed any living creature with them, not even hunting. Like you, if it was decided that people needed to turn in their firearms, I would comply.

Unlike you, I think that while guns play an obvious role in violence, both facilitating it and making it more damaging, I don't think that the object which one chooses to commit violence is the cause of the violence.

We need to address root causes of violence, as another person who responded said, the economic desperation, disconnect from community, mental health issues, lack of hope for a good future, etc... And certainly, as I previously stated, the easy access to guns and glorification of guns and violence. All of those things are part of the solution.

I think I have an idea of what you mean by "gun humper", but you do need to understand that there are likely people on this site who think that YOU are a gun humper too, simply because you own guns, yes? You have also killed innocent animals with said guns.

I agree with you whole heartedly on the NRA, and I definitely have my feelings about people who, all they do is talk about guns, put pictures of their guns online, and seem obsessed with them. I also understand that vilifying an object and anyone associated with that object, does not necessarily solve the issue you want to solve.

induce someone vote for "anything but a liberal". That voter will vote for Satan himself ONLY because they believe all liberal candidates are gun confiscaters .

Then you have "socialism" which we all know about; and, "The Border" in which people fear "liberals are growing a brown majority voting block that will take American jobs and draw government handouts"; and, this year they are adding "CRT" as a plot to make American children hate their white heritage, which of course is to infuriate white voters against liberals.

Then add tax cuts for the uber wealthy and you have the entire Republican platform.
