Dr. Fauci shouts down Rand Paul at COVID hearing: 'If anybody is lying here, Senator, it is you'

Dr. Anthony Fauci angrily suggested on Tuesday that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was lying about the origins of COVID-19.

The confrontation occurred during a Senate Health Committee after Paul said that Fauci could be punished with jail time for allegedly false testimony to Congress about the funding of a lab in Wuhan, China.

"Senator Paul, I have never lied before the Congress," Fauci said. "And I do not retract [my previous] statement."

25. Rand Paul was using an old Bill O'Reilly interview tactic

First he poses a simple question to the person being interviewed. As that person is answering he interrupts with another question. When the subject stops answering the first question to address the second one, he butts in again, only louder with a third query.

It goes on like that with the impression that the person being interviewed is unable to answer to the grilling. With luck, the subject begins stuttering and becomes disoriented as to how to reply.

The good doctor handled it well. I guess that's what it looks like when he loses his cool but stays in control of the debate. He called Rand Paul a liar! hahaha
