I'm on my way out now for a rapid covid test

Last edited Fri Jul 23, 2021, 09:29 AM - Edit history (1)

We have been fully vaccinated since April and I've always been super careful. Until I wasn't, the last few weeks we eased up a little.

Now we're sick with weird cold plus symptoms. I'm going for the rapid first because I have a work obligation on Sunday. It will also give me a regular result in 48 hours.

Wish me a negative please...

Thanks

ETA - the rapid test was negative! Thanks everyone 😊

We've had sniffles and general blah for a couple weeks, negative COVID result when tested a week after first symptoms.
Hope you get a negative result.

I recently got tested (relaxed my covid protocols a little, got a haircut, traveled a bit (within the state, but still) and so on).
Mine was thankfully negative. It actually gave me an answer in 15 minutes (it as a rapid antigen test, not a PCR test).

about 6 weeks ago. He went and got swabbed at the hospital after 2 days of fever, so it should have been pretty accurate. He was negative.

There are a lot of summer colds going around where we are right now.

Last year I had a fever and not feeling well, so I went to the ER. 3 test for COVID, all negative. I felt so relived. It was killing about 8% of folks my age. It was only Sepsis, that kills 50% no matter what your age is. Getting to the ER right away helped save my life.

My husband thought he could go back to his regular restaurant and have coffee with all the other old farts. He brought home a cold or flu virus. I was sick and he was sicker. I was furious, too. It is too soon to relax.

I have asked him nicely to mask up again. I will stop being nice soon.

We have to go to a visitation this afternoon. A wonderful friend and Democrat died. It was not covid. We have to be masked!

The funeral home owner is a Democrat, too. I hope he is strongly encouraging masks.

Our colds went away in about ten days. I hope the same is true for you. Take care and stay safe.

Stuffy sinus, sneezing, achy, no fever. Checked my temp a couple of times a day and Monday I had a very slight fever, but it came down later that day. Still sneezing and have very dry sinus's and a bit achy, but I feel much better. I thought about going in for a rapid test but haven't felt like leaving the house. Luckily I started a 2 month vacation on Monday, so I don't have to go anywhere.

The person that I work most closely with fell ill on the same day. He's in his early 30's, I'm in my late 50's. He started feeling much better by yesterday.

My wife has started feeling a bit sinus'y and she's started sneezing.

Since the two of us came down with the sickness at the same time, and my wife only 4 days after me, I don't believe it's Covid.

Delta's incubation period is shorter yet it's able to achieve much higher virus load during that time.

that is what it was. I had a 4 day fever with aches/chills, etc and also am fully vaxxed. It last about a week but no congestion, difficulty breathing, loss of smell so I didn't take the test. Last Summer I had the same thing and got tested since there were no vaccines yet.

98.6 to 99.8. (My usual body temp is 97.6.) It felt like a very mild cold. I didn't go get a test either. It truly felt like a mild summer cold. I'm fine now, but the hubs caught it, though.

cold I think it may be Covid. I wonder how long we will have that thought in our heads whenever we get sick.
