"Lift Every Voice and Sing" played before games this year.
It's not right and non-american (or something like that) they lament as they hurl their screed from behind a curtain of Confederate Flags.

Just stupid poor man fighting so a rich white man could have slaves.
Still the same.
Play that song.

I don't know why people think that blood-relation requires that I support and defend what they did.

(58,785 posts)many black voices were objecting too. They found themselves hatemongering on the same side of the road, albeit for very different reasons. Apparently many of the black objectors did some rethinking and are now okay with having this be an NFL thing.
I'm glad it survived and will be sung, but only for a while -- until we retire The Star Spangled Banner, which stinks in so many ways, from professional sports altogether. Meanwhile, two "anthems" unfortunately claimed as their own by racial and/or nationalist factions can hopefully act as a move toward a very different place we need to be.

(64,861 posts)...even going to hear it?
The Bears games I've been to have the anthem played around 15 minutes before kickoff.
The telecast starts about 2 minutes before kickoff.
So, these whiny babies won't even be exposed to what they hate so much, unless they're at the game, in-person.
Maybe not week one or the Superbowl, because the pregame coverage is extensive & goes on and on.
But, the rest of the games?

(2,199 posts)Now, they aren't just going to continue not watching games....they're going to unwatch games they already saw.
Yup...they're going to find videos of games they've previously watched...then play them in reverse (while watching them)...thus, 'unwatching' them.
