Labor groups seek contracts in nonunion state
The Democratic National Convention Committee has awarded three contracts to six firms, worth a combined $7 million.

As the awarding of contracts for the Democratic National Convention gets under way in earnest, Charlotte-area union groups are making it clear to convention organizers they want those jobs.

The heightened vigilance from both sides shows how the convention already casts a national spotlight on North Carolina's status as the least-unionized state in the nation.

The Democratic National Convention Committee has awarded three contractsto six firms, worth a combined $7 million. Of those, one went to a unionized firm.

2008 the Democratic National Convention was held in Denver, another right to work state

In 2012, the DNC is in the state with the lowest union membership in the nation at 3.2%

Charlotte doesn't even have a *SINGLE* unionized hotel

The Democratic party sold out the unions a long time ago, when they let NAFTA pass.
