If the AG had no doubt that crimes were committed, in addition to violations of civil rights law, she probably would have said so, or at least signaled she might be bringing those charges herself. But shes not."

(15,325 posts)Just repeating what I've read about it last night.
The complaint was never officially documented on paper nor signed.
It was spoken between the Sherriff & the complainant .
Maybe that is why James made the decision.
There's a shitshow a day anymore!
Guess we'll know when its over.

(422 posts)"Now, several district attorneys have requested additional investigative information from the state's probe, saying they will determine whether incidents that occurred in their jurisdictions amount to crimes. The former executive assistants complaint, filed with the Albany County Sheriffs Office, puts even more pressure on the Albany district attorneys office to consider charges, including those of forcible touching or sexual abuse. But a citizens complaint does not automatically result in a criminal case. Nor do the conclusions in the AGs report."
Also where in your link does it say that the AG can't bring criminal charges against the governor of the state?
