MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal from an Oregon sheriff who denied a concealed handgun license to a medical marijuana user.
The high court's decision means 54-year-old Gold Hill resident Cynthia Willis and others and can keep both their pistols and their pot.
Willis tells the Medford Mail Tribune her case has been a victory for medical marijuana users throughout Oregon.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winter argued that federal gun laws prohibited him from issuing a concealed gun permit to Willis in 2008.

Where the men are men, and the sheep are scared.

There's a whole Cheech and Chong episode in this article. The jokes write themselves.

I have no problem with this.
But I have never had a problem so I see
no need for a gun.
I do have sheep though.

That those settlers were so eager to get there when I played, "Oregon Trail," in elementary and middle school.

(18,186 posts)9. Good for the Supremes
It's a start....now if they'd allow the rest of the nation's suffering people the right to choose cannabis to treat their maladies - and the right to use it recreationally as some use alcohol if they so choose - we'd have an actual Supreme Court that values liberty over propaganda, greed and bigotry.
