I hope one of you computer/techie folks can help me. I get texts (the dirty kind) that my phone system (AT&T) won't let me block because there's an email address attached to the incoming phone number. It's a group text to about 20 addressees. I delete them but I want to block them. Employee at local AT&T store said it couldn't be done. ???

(37,984 posts)Is there no icon (like a circle with a slash through it) on the text message? That's a feature within the Android software, not your provider.
Look for three dots in the upper right hand of the text message, when pressed the menu should give you the option to block the number. A little circle icon with a slash through it.

I'd like to block all emails that come through as text.

(9,696 posts)I've called the provider twice (t-mobile) and both times they said they would raise the spam block on my phone which works for a while. Why email texts can't be sent to spam is a mystery as it's obvious that's the trick spammers are using to not get blocked.
Funny thing is most of the email address are spoofed to look like they come from t-mobile, yet t-mobile still doesn't care.
At least mine aren't porn.

Tap on the slider next to Enable spam protection so it becomes blue.

(67,361 posts)I just checked & I have it.
It is exactly where that post described it.
I'm xfinity mobile, which uses Verizon as the carrier.
My phone shows it on.
On the same pull down menu where "settings" is found, there's a choice to actually view blocked texts. I've never done it, until now.
Sure enough there was a blocked text there & the opening sounds like something I don't want to see.
