Texas: US court upholds ban of common abortion procedure

Texas: US court upholds ban of common abortion procedure (Deutsche Welle)

The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas law on Wednesday that bans the most common abortion procedure used during second-trimester pregnancies.

A majority of the 14 judges sided with the 2017 Texas law, overturning an earlier decision by the same court to block it.

The legislation would stop doctors from the standard dilation and evacuation method which employs forceps to remove the fetus without the use of an injection or suction. Abortion activists say it outlaws the safest method for women in the second trimester to terminate a pregnancy.

Back when the slogan "safe legal and rare" was coined, this was the procedure they were talking about.

upheld a ban on gestational limits. In any case, it's bad news and very similar to the case the SCOTUS is hearing.

And "safe, legal and rare" wasn't about any particular procedure -- it was a move by Bill Clinton (and later HRC) to soften public perception of Democrats and abortion.

Correct. But what procedure was in common use?

5. At that time, suction, because most abortions happen within the first eight weeks.

Now, mif/mis is rising in availability, but D&C/suction is still common at that point.

will go. Those that cannot will seek illegal means and or do it themselves. Therefore, many women will die.

For politicians who get women pregnant (not their wives) will send their mistresses to those states or even out of the country for abortions.

repeat, rinse, repeat again.

Any devout God fearing upstanding holier than thou christian gives a single care about abortion. I have asked these types repeatedly and never once have gotten a good answer.

I don't know how we protect women of the future from the dishonest of today. We keep having g to fight the same inch of ground over and over but it is too important to give up on.
