Troubled singer Sinead O'Connor was last night recovering from a suicide bid after taking an overdose of pills.
The Nothing Compares 2 U star, 45, who has a history of depression, made a desperate cry for help on Twitter yesterday claiming she was "in danger" if she did not get the correct medication.
Luckily, the singer, who is currently in Dublin, got the help she needed after struggling to find psychiatric care in the city.
The star, who is now working on getting back to health, said: "God obviously wants me around - though I can't think why."

(53,410 posts)She's a brave and visionary woman who spoke out against the church long before other victims could. She paved the way and paid the price. If her attempt to commit suicide would have been successful it would have been a tragic ending to a life devoted to the Truth. May others get the help they need because of her.

If I get banned then so be it.

The singer, who admitted that she attempted suicide on her 33rd birthday 11 years ago, recently split from and then reunited with her fourth husband Barry Herridge.

(62,507 posts)She got married, then divorced 15 days later because her husband (and her therapist) was caught in the middle of her buying crack. He bailed. But then they reconciled.
Now she tried to commit suicide?
Damn, the poor woman. I hope she gets a better therapist/husband.
I know she has had a lot of trouble in her life, I believe, stemming from being abused as a child.
I hope she gets the help she needs.
