I want to be sympathetic but I just don't feel it.

Let 'em take Ivermectin.....

At some point and by some means, they have to learn what information from what sources they can trust.

1. At least, unlike the anti-vax, anti-mask bullshit...

...when they're eating horse paste, they're mostly just hurting themselves.

They're still sometimes taking limited medical care away from more deserving people, however.

2. I believe this ivermectin nonsense began in much the same way as did the Qanon nonsense

Some joker somewhere thought to himself "let's float this ridiculous bullshit out there to see just how moronic and gullible some people can be."

trumpanzees are now getting dewormed, then die, then end up as worm food.

Good for a laugh.

3. Yeah. They're floating it to make money off it.

Scam.

5. The only thing I am worried about is not being able to get ivermectin for my horses

In particular, one has what is called "summer sores" which are parasites that live at the skin surface and cause open sores. Until ivermectin was released, it was pretty much untreatable. The horse being treated now gets a concoction with ivermectin and a couple of other "new" medications applied daily and the sores covered. She's been treated for about two months and they are estimating she will need another two months.

If the vet can't get ivermectin, I am not sure what we will do.

Fucking covidiots.

9. It would be a shame if a horse dies because of these humans.

And that's not sarcasm.

11. Oh, she won't die

But her sores could get much worse.

Plus here in Florida in the last forty years we have found that rotating dewormers really helps cut down on the infestation of worms. Horses used to die from worms that embedded in their intestines, killing part of the intestine and causing severe colic. Those cases have reduced tremendously with the introduction of newer, more effective dewormers, the earliest of which was ivermectin.

Now, as the parasites developed resistance, other dewormers have been developed but ivermectin is still one of the principal ones used. At least the shortages are hitting towards the end of parasite season and hopefully by next spring, they will be back in stock. Of course with warmer winters, deworming goes on year round - when I got my first horseover fifty years ago we only wormed twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. Now we deworm every two months or six weeks.

7. I hear ya but we're already out of hospital beds with the anti-vax loonies dying from Covid.

Now, more of these loonies are showing up at hospitals having poisoned themselves with horse wormer.

I feel no sympathy for the loonies. Darwin will not be denied. I worry about the rest of us that might need hospital care.
