You're right, a minute isn't that long.
My wife & I flew in on AAL a few times, then took a turboprop to Key West.
The gates were far north, small plane tarmak, far south.
Once when my wife had a recovery boot, a guy gave us a ride in a golf cart. Took almost 3 minutes by golf cart, and the guy was driving like a nut.
So, it might take a while for response to something like this.
