If we won't arrest the monster, it will only get worse.

Those of us who continue saying this, get shot down, and told that we need to keep fighting. Yada yada yada.

NOTHING is going to happen to TFG or his enablers. That's just a fact we'll all be accepting in the end.

Nothing will happen. No indictments in NY. No action from the 1/6 committee. No surprise indictments from the DOJ.

There will be another attempted overthrow. It will fail, but the precedent will have been set that this will be the new norm. No election from here on will proceed smoothly or peacefully.

School boards in red states will ban actual education or will cease funding public education.

The Texas anti abortion laws will be the models in all red states.

A successful recall in California will not bode well for any Democratic governor.

If there was even one bright spot on the horizon, I’d feel differently. Maybe. But I don’t see it.

California has the lowest standards for recall - less than half the names needed on the petitions than in other states that allow recalls. Also, there are no justifications for the recall, no criminal or corruption charges need to be levied before a recall can proceed. It's a horrible system that the republicans have been exploiting for years - the recall and the ballot initiative system. I'm really pissed that the legislature has done nothing to reform the recall system. I don't know what they could do or if it needed to be an amendment to the State Constitution, but this, like the electoral college, is very wrong and unlike the electoral college, could have been fixed.

I won't bother to tell you otherwise. However, I think surprises are coming. We'll see.

they don’t have enough to convict (but they most always prosecute the little guy and even settling a case strips the average Joe of everything).

Of course if they want to prosecute they know that 1 hidden Trumper in the jury will blow the case since that juror could be shown a video of TFG murdering someone and still vote the cult leader innocent.

The one possible light is that Trump doesn’t like to settle and the jurisdiction he would be tried in is low on crazies.

set the precedent if nothing much happens for rough rides in the future ... the US is so damn divided.

No point in even posting on a message board if all the posts consist of complaints that nothing is going to happen.

Unfortunately for us and fortunately for the r's, that is what the r's want us to do. Give up and go home.
