California recall and VA Governor election

If Newsom and McAuliffe both lose

Media -this is not a good sign for the Democrats, they are in bad shape for 2022

If one loses

Media - this is not a good sign for the Democrats, they are in bad shape for 2022

If both win

Media - yeah, they won but it was closer than it should have beenÖ this is not a good sign for the Democrats, they are in bad shape for 2022

1. Ha! Yup!

This is EXACTLY what the headlines are going to be. BTW isn't McAuliffe in good shape polling-wise (which is why Republicans are trying to get him off the ballot)?

6. No real idea.

I heard a discussion about it this morning but it was the local RW station. The lawyer (also in the General Assembly) was saying that courts tend not weigh this directly on elections. This may be thrown out due to a lack of standing - itís post primary and the person who could say she had damages probably wonít file a suit.

7. Realistically though, the media push CONFLICT - generates more interest.

Virginia gets a bit bluer each year.

The 'con for guv, has his own $, and may be running in part for future name recognition.

8. Of course! The media told Democrats to reach out to the losing side in 2020.

In 2016 they said the same thing, even though Hillary won the popular vote.
