8 months since the insurrection;

Who disabled the panic buttons on Congressional desks? Why don't we know?
Who authorized Capitol tours to insurrectionists? Why don't we know?
Who funded the insurrection? Do we know?
Why aren't we seeing stiffer sentences for people who tried to overthrow our government?
The Insurrection was based on the Big Lie. Why did DOJ allow a bogus private company access to ballots, voting equipment, and other election materials in violation of federal law? Why did DOJ only write a stern letter?

8 months since the insurrection. The GQP strategy is to delay, obstruct, delay, obstruct, its strategy appears to be working to me.

If the GQP wins back the House, bye bye select committee, bye bye IG report. If the GQP wins back the House I guarantee it will hold public hearings investigating Democrats.

Proof that the insurrection is ongoing, proof that the insurrection is growing, there will be another rally at the Capitol on September 18 to protest insurrectionists (patriots) being arrested and held in jail.

Pass S1
Add justices to the SC.

Time is wasting, it will soon be Kornacki time.

2. The GqP will not win back the House

they are a minority party - we only need to motivate our base.

3. Indeed, and we should know this

It's proven to be true over and over. If we unite, stay motivated and resolute Republicans can't stop us.

4. Have you looked at the GQP redistricting plans?

I live in Pa. and it doesn't matter if Democrats put a billion dollars into the Democratic candidates in my district a Democrat will never win due to redistricting. Every election year in Pa. more people vote for Democrats by far and yet Republicans continue to gain Congressional seats because of gerrymandering.

Have you looked at the new GOP election laws? The GQP is weeding out local election officials and replacing them with Qanon people. The GQP is putting its members in charge of running the elections. The GQP is passing laws where the GQP doesn't have to send delegates to the Electoral College from the party that got the most votes, they can send its own delegates.

You want to know what scares me the most? People who say all we have to do is get out the vote. If we don't pass S1 we are in deep trouble.

8. Just speaking from experience...

this has been true for awhile now. They still can't win even when they rig the game. We just have to turn out and motivate our base. It is always that simple.

Yes, they will still hold a much larger portion of congress than the electorate but our advantage at the ballot is enough if we use it. We will prevail because we ARE THE PEOPLE. Ultimately, no matter what they do, they can not suppress us. We just have to shout loud enough and force the issue.

Sometimes our leaders don't recognize this. We must keep reminding them!

11. I wish you were right,

What state are you from? Democrats will never win a majority of House seats in Pa., never, unless we pass S1 and reform gerrymandering.

I must repeat this, more people vote Democratic in Pa. and even when the Democratic votes in Pa. increased, we lost seats.

The GQP is planning how to win back the House right now simply by redistricting.

13. That may be true but and I understand your frustration but we've got your back

Seriously, if we persist this will change even in PA.

5. Yeah, I feel like none of the really important stuff is happening.

None of the big name players in 1/6 have been charged. Trump is still free. Greene, Cawthorn, McCarthy, etc. are still inciting terrorism and sedition.

It just feels like the rule of law is already dead, and the DoJ is just going through the motions, but not actually trying to stop another insurrection or worse.

7. Focus on what is real and important.

The panic buttons are a non story, the tours are a non story, the story to follow, is as always, to follow the money. Who funded it and what did they do with the money, that is what matters. Who paid for it and why, what were they expecting for their money?

Who communicated with who, thatís what matters. The committee needs to keep its eye on the ball and follow what matters in the limited time that they have to get the job done.

9. Why don't we have the redactions from the Mueller report?

Too much is kept from the American people.

Why, I do not know. Why at this time of existential threat to the republic?

Wait, he wasnít?

Nor was he immediately Impeached.

Youíre going to have to be patient.

12. I hope you are right,

I value your posts. I just can't understand why our DOJ allowed a bogus company to have access to ballots, voting equipment, and election materials and only wrote a stern letter. IMO, it is clear to me, an internet lawyer, that federal laws were broken in Arizona and now these people are coming to my state, Pa. and trying to do the same thing.

14. "It is clear to me"

A lawyer and someone politically engaged enough to show up on a political blog is not the profile of the average Juror.

15. There are only two alternatives for why DOJ has not charged anyone in Arizona yet

1. They are corrupt or incompetent.
2. They have a good reason

Considering this AG and political appointees at DOJ were selected by President Biden, I have a solid basis to assume it's alternative #2

19. Hah! I was about to blow up about #1 until I read #2!!! You almost got me there.

If the prosecutors did what many people would like them to do, they'd lose a big % of their cases based on technicalities.

If nothing else we have time. Let's allow them all to do this correctly, not quickly.

20. Right. The break-in was June 1972, the impeachment hearings began in May 1974, almost 2 yrs later.

17. A few answers, or additional questions:

Who disabled the panic buttons on Congressional desks? Why don't we know?

"We" don't know, but are we sure the investigators and prosecutors don't know?

Who authorized Capitol tours to insurrectionists? Why don't we know?

"We" don't know, but are we sure the investigators and prosecutors don't know?

Who funded the insurrection? Do we know?

No doubt the investigators and prosecutors know.

Why aren't we seeing stiffer sentences for people who tried to overthrow our government?

Only a comparative handful of the 600+ who've been charged have been sentenced, and I'm sure the prosecutors know what they said in order to get their sentences. The organizers and leaders haven't been tried yet.

Remember, there still are a couple of hundred or more who are being held in jail "8 months since the insurrection". They're not getting off lightly.

Finally, we "don't know" because prosecutors and investigators don't hold daily press conferences or send out daily email blasts to tell the world about what they're doing day to day. That's not how investigations and prosecutions work.

Want them to spill the beans and blow hundreds of air-tight cases?

And then there is the biggest question. WHY DON'T WE KNOW?
THAT is the most disturbing.

22. "Why aren't we seeing stiffer sentences for people who tried to overthrow our government?"

Because the only sentences that have been handed down so far have been the result of plea bargains, which almost always result in lighter sentences. That's the point: Defendants bargain with the prosecution to plead guilty and accept a conviction in exchange for getting a lighter sentence. It's a win for the government because it saves time, money and, most important, avoids the risk of an acquittal or mistrial.

When the people who refuse to plea bargain go to trial and are convicted (fingers crossed because juries sometimes be trippin), we will see much stiffer sentences.
