Hospital says it has received hundreds of calls, some threatening that have been referred to police.

Lin Wood, who still has a law license, called up a hospital, introduced himself as an attorney, and told the operator theyll be charged with murder because they refused to dispense Ivermectin to an anti-vaxxer pal of his who got COVID.
I am sure that there are many anti-vaxxers who know that horse and sheep de-wormer is never a good plan for dealing with the effects of the virus, or as a preventative for catching the virus. Your run of the mill round the world thinking anti-vaxxer, if you will. But then there is the next level anti-vaxxer who will punch a breast cancer survivor in her scars, protest vaccine sites and lose their shit at school board meetings. It was almost inevitable that the Q unstable end of the anti-vaxxers would end up here...
When medical staff refuse to do bad science, now they are murderers, cause anti science crowd are literally dying, cause well funded Q enablers are spreading anti life propaganda, cause death cult.
Got it.
The STUPID. IT BURNS. LITERALLY

(43,128 posts)Maybe that's why they're so twisted? Researchers keep telling us that what goes into and on inside our gut helps determine what happens in the rest of our body including our mind. These people have a worm problem. We can guess their diet is not the best. But with that theory, what to make of Chumslee Shaman Viking Head? He has the best diet from what we're told.

I'd go with what the insurance carrier says.

(21,304 posts)must have just got a slap on the wrist for all of those dangerous, frivolous law suits. I believe they had to pay court costs but no disbarment.
Princess Turandot
(4,787 posts)That was in Michigan. The judge referred them all to the disciplinary boards of the states where theyre licensed for potential disbarment, because that review/decision falls to the state boards. (That's going to take time, because there's a standard process that they have to go through.)
U.S. District Judge Linda Parker has already awarded attorneys fees to Michigan and Detroit and ordered they must be paid, but will now decide whether to grant the requests for those specific amounts. The payments are part of Parkers broader order approving sanctions against Powell, Wood and the other attorneys that brought the lawsuit, which unsuccessfully attempted to overturn the states presidential election through fraud allegations that Parker ruled were false claims based on speculation, conjecture, and unwarranted suspicion.
In addition to the attorneys fees, Parker has also ordered the lawyers undergo 12 hours of legal education on pleading standards and election law, and said every attorney will be referred to the disciplinary boards where theyre licensed for investigation and possible suspension or disbarment.

(527 posts)is that those who do not trust doctors and science end up going to the hospital. Why dont they just stay home and treat as their cult recommends?
Nay
(12,051 posts)It seems simple enough just to stay home and treat yourself.
Ah! But we've missed the ACTUAL reason why all these crazy people do such things -- it's the only way they can disrupt everything for everybody and get a thrill out of being destructive.

(2,804 posts)Oh we'll, now Mr Wood can keep working full time to get his law licence revoked.
And if Ivermectin was so good why did this believer even get sick? Didn't she have it ready w her compliant pro-antivax Doctor? Even if Ivermectin works it carries the risk that you have to take it after you're symptomatic.
Merck it self said nothing for a year, but now they realised they had to protect themselves legally by clearly saying they don't think it works and it's not safe to bet your life on.

(9,116 posts)The sheer number of babbling hacks churned out by law schools is downright stupefying. Imagine if medical schools produced incompetent doctors at a commiserate rate?

(21,432 posts)They also must pay someone to take the bar exam for them.
Act_of_Reparation
(9,116 posts)"Incompetent" isn't the best word, as a good many of these clowns are simply frauds. They know they're selling garbage, and they don't care.
As for how the dumb people get through: law schools vary in quality and intensity, and the bar just isn't that difficult. You know, unless you're Jim Jordan.

(21,432 posts)I remember that JFK Jr. failed the exam a couple times before passing. I also remember reading that retaking the exam is not all that unusual because it it is difficult.

Also, there seem to be enough people with decent IQs who just frikkin' lose it after finishing a normal law school.

So as these people find this out the anger is going to increase. The hospital should have LE there on-site to protect the Dr. & Nurses who are just doing their job.
This is not something I ever thought I would see happen in America.
