Why is Twitter allowing this

This is just a work around on his Twitter ban, and these statements are getting bolder and bolder. This last one is the main reason he was banned in the first place…

Edit- if you have twitter, then you need to report this tweet

1. Why are you sharing his release here?

11. Because it's important to know what's going on

And to not live in a bubble…that is how the other side lives and why they are so crazy.

20. If Trump were to post that release here, he'd be banned, I assume.

So are you posting the release, or the fact that someone tweeted the release, which is visible in their tweet, which you posted?

8. Because it's posted as a pic

The algorithms are slower to catch those than straight up text. Get enough reports in, a human will then take a gander.

You have to realize a lot of content monitors are overworked and underpaid at these companies. They often have massive back logs.

This post has not been up very long. It takes a minute.

10. Understand

But I am surprised this account isn’t already on its radar and hasn’t been banned yet. It’s basically Trump and it’s been up for a few months now. It seems like the one he did before as a work around was immediately taken down.

19. I couldn't speak to that

I have a buddy at Twitter who's a software lead. He told me how they go through things, but I never specifically asked what they've been doing on the political end.

I took a gander through her feed. It is kind of an interesting question. The post in your OP is clearly in violation and breaks Twitter's rules. However, Trump is a public figure - and a former president to boot. What he says does have news value. You can't really entirely censor a major political figure. It would be a terrible precedent. Social media banning people for repeating a major politician's words?

He was kicked off for violating standards again and again. But if someone posts something he releases publicly, and it doesn't violate the standards, then is it really a problem?

The tweet in your OP is clearly in violation. The other stuff just seems the usual Trump shittery. Awful, but not necessarily breaking rules.

But, as I said, I only went so far down.

22. I see what your saying, but

Twitter already set the precedent by banning him in the first place, and then banning another account that was doing the same thing that this lady is doing.

26. This statement is all over the place on Twitter today

Are they going to start going after all those accounts? I agree with you that particular statement is in violation. But now the statement itself is newsworthy. They're probably not going to touch it. Not only would they have to ding all the Trumpists posting it, they'd have to ding all the anti-Trumpists for posting it. I don't see them getting involved.

In other cases, simply posting the man's words if they're not violating standards doesn't seem actionable to me. Nor do I particularly think it should be actionable.

The feed you linked posts other things as well. It's clearly an individual and not a puppet account. I believe the account banned before was clearly a puppet account.

Twitter isn't going to go around banning people simply because they're Trump supporters. That would be a terrible precedent to start setting for social media.

How exactly would that work?

16. Ban the account

That’s exactly what they did with another account that was similar to this….this person is basically the twitter proxy to Trump

Edit - to me it’s simple…if someone is banned from twitter, then anyone who puts out statements from him get banned too

18. Again I ask, how would this work?

Anyone who mentions Trump gets banned? Or just anyone who quotes him? Or something else?

The OP quoted part of Trump's statement. If they posted the same question on Twitter, should they be banned?

21. Your question is legit

I think I would go with your third answer “or something else”…so yes. a mention is fine and so is a quote (unless it became a habit and the only thing on that person’s account)…but if you look at this lady’s account, she is putting out full statements from Trump that sound just like his old twitter account and is really the only thing that she is tweeting…I think that is worthy of a ban

23. They'd have to monitor accounts pretty closely since I don't see any way to use an algorithm for

this - a lot of people quote Trump for legitimate reasons.

I agree - if someone is abusing it the way she is, they should do something. But it would be hard to keep up with everyone since it would have to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, which is very cost and time intensive.

29. But how can they easily determine when a post is band evading and when it's just quoting someone?

As I said with your lots of legitimate decent posts from quotes and even post various statements he issues. I just don't see a simple way for Twitter to prevent that without dealing with it on a tweet by tweet basis, which would miss an awful lot.

This is what I replied with that got my account suspended
