Cable news viewership:
Aug 31, 2021
In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 394,000 viewers, down 38%, compared to CNN with 191,000, down 58%, and MSNBC with 163,000, down 55%. In total day, Fox News averaged 1.42 million, down 20%, compared to MSNBC with 732,000, down 41%, and CNN with 621,000, down 39%. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think with Dems mostly running things, lefty voters are taking a break and watching less news in general so it makes sense that the more left-leaning channels are losing viewership.

1. Agree!
I'm down to watching one or two news shows a day. So tired of the hashing and rehashing of the shit we already know.

2. What you said makes sense.
But, I think what these numbers show is that not nearly as many folks watch any CNN, Foxnews, or MSNBC as we sometimes think.
Looks to me like the grand total of the three is...less than 3 million. That's not impressive at all. |

3. I still tape my favorites on MSNBC
Then a couple times a week I watch it if there is nothing else of interest on but zip through any breaks. I figure if I tape it, they will still be counted as viewed whether I do or not.

4. I have MSNBC on with the sound off, early in the morning and during Thom Hartmann.
I just watch the chyrons and the scrolling text at the bottom.

5. I got sick of the Biden bashing 24/7.
To bad about their ratings, it is tied to the coverage!

7. I wouldn't worry about cable news networks
Most of the top 15 web news sites have a left of center bias and a considerably greater reach. Unfortunately the New York Times, Washington Post and LA Times are paywalled, but then so is the WSJ. I think the rest are free.

8. The Fox crowd is back at it..
We no longer have cable and I watch CBSN.
Much less hype, less commercials etc. No loudmouths! CBSN is CBS News 24 hours. They tend to follow the CBS ethos. It's a bit like PBS news. https://www.cbsnews.com/ |

9. Newsy is going over the air on October 1st.
No pundits, more hard core news like the old days of TV.
