These 35 Senators Voted Against Stopgap Funding to Avoid Government Shutdown

The Senate on Thursday approved a stopgap government funding bill that will avoid federal agencies from shutting down through early December.

The spending measure, called continuing resolution, passed the Senate in a vote of 65-35, more than achieving the 60 votes required for approval. The bill is meant to make ongoing appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2022, and provide emergency aid among other purposes.

Among the 35 senators, all of them Republicans, who voted against the bill were John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming; Marsha Blackburn and William Hagerty of Tennessee; John Boozman and Thomas Cotton of Arkansas; Michael K. Braun of Indiana; Kevin Cramer of North Dakota; Michael Crapo of Idaho; Ted Cruz of Texas; Steven Daines of Montana; and Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

Those who rejected the bill also include Joshua Hawley of Missouri; John Hoeven of North Dakota; Cindy Hyde-Smith and Roger Wicker of Mississippi; Ronald Johnson of Wisconsin; James Lankford and James Inhofe of Oklahoma; Mike Lee of Utah; Roger Marshall and Gerald Moran of Kansas; Rand Paul of Kentucky; Robert Portman of Ohio; James Risch of Idaho; Rick Scott and Marco Rubio of Florida; Timothy Scott of South Carolina; Daniel Sullivan of Alaska; John Thune of South Dakota; Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania; Thomas Tuberville of Alabama; and Benjamin Sasse and Debra Fischer of Nebraska.

uttered a peep over all the money Dumpy wasted on stupid things like his wall and hugely unnecessary things like his tax gift for the wealthy. Didn’t they vote to lift the debt ceiling like three times for their Orange Lord and Master?

And they will continue to draw their pay, even if they vote to default on the bills they've incurred for the country. Remember, this "stopgap funding" is supposed to pay for obligations the nation has already incurred, obligations that pile up under Republican presidents and then have to be dealt with by Democratic presidents.

But that concept is too difficult for our media overlords to explain to the proles, so for all the Republicans' irresponsible behavior, the media hail Republicans as fiscally responsible.

All 35 are nothing but obstructionists hell bent on doing great damage to the country. They are a do-nothing bunch of political hacks trying to damage Pres. Biden and the Democrats who are attempting to re-build the country. Beyond shameful and the names of some are directly tied to the apron strings of the 1/6 revolt.
