One of our medical group fired the unvaccinated staff today

The nurses are protesting out front of Heritage Medical and our red California area is up in arms and the outrage is flowing. It is funny they keep going on about rights that don't exist but not one has said anything about the rights of the patients not to be cared for by a plague carrier.

If they want to create an environment hostile to life, they get a hostile work environment. Simple.

These idiots are getting too much respect and are not getting called out enough about the selfishness of their decision. Also they are fighting for losing cause. Giving up their livelihood? This is all political

The outrage is overflowing, they say they were fired without cause even after admitting the medical center has a policy requiring vaccinations that they violated.

They didn’t bother to check, just assumed they could violate company policy, get fired, and get paid by the state?

Was that the plan?

I sure wouldn’t want someone that clueless taking care of me.

they wouldn't be out of a job right now.

Every nurse or other hospital employee who give their "reasons" for not getting the vaccine, are completely clueless. Their excuses are pitiful, and they demonstrate how misinformed they are, or how politically brainwashed they are.

It's political. I'd be willing to bet they're ALL right-wing-nuts, but they can't come out and say that, so they make up silly excuses, or use the tried and true republican propaganda.

They haven't done any homework. You can tell the minute they open their mouths. If they had done their homework, they'd be vaccinated by now. The scientific evidence is overwhelmingly positive.

The very country who pushes all the lies and misinformation on willing right-wingnuts in the U.S. wouldn't have any of them in their country.

They want intelligent, productive people immigrating to their country, not America's "bad hombres", as Asshole45 once said.

The have been quoting Dr. Emily Wells as their expert, the sad thing is when I pointed out that aside from being a wackjob she was an orthopedist I was informed she knew more about covid and the vaccines than almost any other doctor or researcher.

Who is their audience? The vaccinated who don't want to be near the unvaccinated? They are screaming into the abyss. They act all defiant as if that'll make us risk our lives. FOH. If you don't believe in science then find a career that doesn't rely on it.

On another thread in the Lounge, I posted about my visit to a dermatologist for a skin exam due to a family history of skin cancer.

I wore a mask and am vaccinated, but was reluctant to remove the mask. I finally did remove it and the PA discovered a precancerous lesion on the side of my nose. It was knowing that all the medical staff are vaccinated, thanks to Governor Hochul, that gave me the confidence necessary to remove the mask.

Thank you Kathy Hochul for a common sense vaccine mandate to protect people around health care practitioners.

Fuck 'em.

Enjoy your unemployment, you assholes. And don't apply for unemployment benefits, either, because you probably got all snowflaky about others getting benefits and probably have bitched about "socialism" most of your (so-called) adult life.

this has NEVER been the case- that droves of healthcare workers would refuse vaccinations. At most, a handful might refuse.

I think that the influence of Facebook is tremendous in this new phenomenon.

APPLY to STUDY to be A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT in Calif., one must get vaccinated for Hep B through a series, tested for TB, tested for measles…So purely politics. Especially at this point with all the proof that the Covid-19 vaccine has a strong safety record and is effective.
