'Bridgerton' hair and makeup designer Marc Pilcher dead at 53
“Bridgerton” hair and makeup designer Marc Pilcher, who won an Emmy just weeks ago, died Sunday of COVID-19.
He was 53. Pilcher was double vaccinated and had no underlying health conditions, his family and friends said in a statement. “The passing of Marc Pilcher is beyond words,” “Bridgerton” producer Shonda Rhimes tweeted. “I will forever be in awe of the incredible hairstyling and makeup work that he brought to ‘Bridgerton.’ My heart goes out to his loved ones as we lost him way too soon.” Phoebe Dynevor, who starred in the Netflix regal drama as Daphne Bassett, said she was at a “loss for words.” “Marc was so passionate about his work and so tremendously talented. Not even a month ago he won his first Emmy award,” tweeted Nicola Coughlan, who played Penelope Featherington. “It’s a tragedy that he’s been taken so young when he had so much yet to do. Please also use this as a reminder that COVID is still a very real and present danger, please get vaccinated and mask up to protect yourself and others.” === RIP Marc. Glad that he was able to go out having been recognized at the pinnacle of his profession.

1. Wondering if it was the lambda or other variant that is so resistant to the vaccines.

5. It is possible he had very, very low antibodies
My sister and I both have the same basic level of fitness, both double-vaxxed Moderna within a week of one another. Both had antibodies tested within the past month. Mine were over 2500 per unit, hers were barely around 300. That could make the difference.

6. Do you have a link for this? If there's more I'd like to read it.
You probably should post a link even if there isn't more.
Its a terrible thing. I'm wondering where it all went wrong for him. His contacts should have been more careful. Such a great loss of a wonderful human that reminds us that we are ALL responsible for trying to be as safe as possible but even then we may not be safe or spared from deadly infection. More needs to be said about community responsibility, the myth of herd immunity and the continued need not just to be fully vaccinated but the need for continuing to wear masks AND to continue social distancing. Plus the importance of control and mitigation of contaminated air circulating in the buildings we are trying to return to, for work and for pleasure, is mostly being ignored. I also believe that our country seriously dropped the ball on contact tracing. As someone who is isolating at home trying to win the fight against a fever that won't break and with many of the symptoms of covid, I am feeling sad and stupid, because I let an unmasked auto mechanic into my car just long enough to probably shed virus. Now I'm sick, after almost two years of extreme isolation and extremely limited human contact. But the problem is, with the hyper contagious Delta variant, it only takes one contact to send someone down the road to ruin. I'm as sad as I am infuriated. Mostly angry at him and all the others who are selfish idiots as cavalier with our collective health as they are with their own. But I let my guard down, if only just once. Now I'm paying for my mistake, because there are people in my world who are apparently soulless idiots, wreckless and possibly even psychopaths. Your post has me very worried. I'm on day ten and not getting better. I had to cancel my covid test appointment because I have been too sick to drive. Please post a link if you have it. I hope you know that even if it seems like no one cares or is listening, I am. Thanks. ❤pants |
