I don't agree with following someone into a bathroom with a camera either, but she is a poor choice to lecture folks on unacceptable behavior.

Point to any opposition Sinema has to voting rights legislation.

Arizona Democratic Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly voted with a united Democratic-controlled Senate on Tuesday to advance their party’s sweeping elections and ethics bill that would dramatically change the way Americans vote, but could not overcome a Republican filibuster.

On a 50-50 vote with all Democrats voting for and all Republicans voting against, the For the People Act fell short of the 60-vote threshold needed to overcome a filibuster in the evenly divided chamber, where Vice President Kamala Harris presided as it voted on whether to open debate on the bill.

That only heightened frustration with Sinema by protesters gathered in the sweltering Arizona heat staging a sit-in at the senator’s north-central Phoenix office to try to pressure her to support eliminating the filibuster — an unlikely scenario. Ten people were arrested, organizers said.

Of course, I hope she proves me wrong.

But so far, she reminds me of municipal elected officials who say they support their local school system but won't take the difficult vote to increase financial support.

That said, I disagree with the protestors' methods.

it is the recalcitrance of Democrats like Sinema that allows the minority party to maintain a 60 vote threshold.

If you don't want to be accosted at inopportune moments, perhaps you should make yourself available to your non-donor constituents/journalists and actually engage in their questions/criticism, rather than just dodging and deflecting with terrible dad jokes.

Would you be ok if moderates surrounded one of the progressive members that are also refusing to compromise? Of course not! It’s shameful, and should never be done. Period, end of story!

“Independent,” and just use the Democratic Party for whatever. Plus McCain pushed the maverick-y image, so she has that to fall back on.

When you think about it, she has more voters to pull from on the GOP side in red/purple Arizona than she does “progressives,” so it’s showtime for her to pull them in.

She is having enough problems doing her first job (serving her constituents and the American people) -- perhaps she should focus more of her time on that instead? I'm sure there are PLENTY of people that would just love to talk to her about her recent actions and inactions...
