Booked my appt. For this Friday. The pharmacy did allow this combo, so it must be ok.

(12,620 posts)All ok with them?
I've never had a either. Now in the age category to have both.
My dad used to get very sick from flu vax every year, but he had a lot of health problems.

(57,073 posts)And I'm sure vax reaction was quite mild, compared to flu.

(21,127 posts)I was eligible for it then because I was in the hospital and was a former smoker. I haven't eligible before or since.
No problem.with them?

(46,037 posts)It was a while ago. I just got the Pfizer booster and flu together. My arm was sore for a couple of days. Otherwise fine.

(57,073 posts)But I didn't want to take any chance at all of anything interfering, so I opted to wait 2 weeks. I also have been holding off of Zyrtec for seasonal allergies. Maybe useless, but it os so important to let the covid booster work...

(11,911 posts)I had a reaction the arm I got the pneumonia shot in (swelled, felt hot, rash from shoulder down to elbow). The itchiness lasted about 5 days. The dr said that at least I didnt need one of those every year.
SheltieLover
(57,073 posts)But glad all ok now! Have you had other vax reactions?

(11,911 posts)I have had other reactions to meds (Bactrim, Januvia, OTC cough syrup). I chalk those up to getting older and more sensitive.

(522 posts)Only problem i had was two really sore arms, and I only remember that because I usually sleep on my side so I couldn't sleep that night. Since then I do my shots one arm at a time, but it's not necessary.

(68,552 posts)the Doctor said my first shot wore off and I used to get pneumonia every year before I had it...would get bronchitis and then Pneumonic...I think I will wear my mask even when the Covid danger has passed. I didn't get the flu last year!

(57,073 posts)My dad used to get really sick from flu shot, but he was 10 days older than dirt, with many health problems.

(68,552 posts)are a miracle if you think about it...in years gone by, how many parents buried their kids for diphtheria, Polio, and measles too (way more dangerous than some think) and the whole host of things that are now unheard of due to vaccines.

(57,073 posts)Saw headline this morning but haven't had time to read it. Really excited for those who got J&J & have been hoping for a booster!
Yes, vaccines really are human intellect at its best, preventing needless suffering & premature deaths!

(68,552 posts)It damn well should be. My sis-in-law had to pay which means we pay. She is in a nursing home after a bad fall...she simply won't do rehab...too painful.

(9,580 posts)Google: Generally, Medicare prescription drug plans (Part D) cover all commercially available vaccines (like the shingles shot) needed to prevent illness. Contact your Medicare drug plan for more information about coverage.

(22,697 posts)But it still cost me $190 out of pocket. And I have to get the follow up shot. It'll probably be just as expensive. Yikes!

(9,580 posts)at the same time. This year I got both the Covid booster and flu shot at the same time.
