After every race NASCAR seizes three cars: the first and second-place cars and one selected at random. They are taken on a NASCAR hauier to the R&D Center in Concord, NC, and all these things are done:
1. A white-light 3D scanning process is done to the body to ensure its shape conforms to the manufacturer's body surface. (This is done to EVERY NASCAR chassis as part of the process of getting it approved to race. If...oh, say, Hendrick Motorsports builds a new chassis, NASCAR travels to Hendrick's shop to do this to the new car. Without this process, the car doesn't get its "NASCAR Race Car" sticker that allows it to be entered in races.)
2. The engine is removed from the car and run on the NASCAR dynamometer. It is then completely disassembled by the team and all the parts are measured and weighed.
3. The transmission is disassembled and all the moving parts are measured and weighed. (This is extremely simple: because all the teams are running Jerico race transmissions, you remove a cover and pull two pins.)
4. The rear end, rear gear, differential and axles are disassembled, weighed and magnafluxed. Magnaflux is a process where they magnetize a part then dip it in iron powder. Any little cracks or imperfections are easily visible.
5. All four shock absorbers are completely disassembled.
6. All four springs are magnafluxed, inspected, and tested for height, diameter and spring rate.
7. The entire front suspension is removed, torn down, magnafluxed and measured.
8. The fuel system is completely disassembled and measured. (They do this because people have been known to pull a fast one: Smokey Yunick put an inflated basketball in his gas tank for inspection then let the air out before the race, Richard Petty discovered NASCAR had no rule on the size of a fuel line so he made one out of a fire hose, and one of the drivers - I think it was Petty - found out the series had no rule on fuel line mounting so he drilled and tapped his roll cage and turned the entire car into a fuel line. It goes without saying NASCAR put a stop to that shit QUICK!)
9. The exhaust system, driver air duct system, and electrical system are checked for serviceability.
10. All the safety systems on the car are thoroughly inspected.

It shouldn't shock you that NASCAR performed a more "in-depth" inspection of Wallace's car. NASCAR does that every weekend.
Also, you may want to know that NASCAR has one of the best diversity programs in sport to try to get people who are not "white men from the South" onto race teams. It's called Drive for Diversity. This program brought Juan Pablo Montoya, a Colombian race driver; Daniel Suarez, a Mexican race driver; Felix Sabates, a Cuban team owner; Danica Patrick, a woman driver; and Bubba Wallace into the top ranks of the series. NASCAR is fucking overjoyed that Bubba Wallace won.
