From AP -Sweden suspends Moderna vaxx for those under 30

?s=21

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Swedish health authorities on Wednesday suspended the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for those ages 30 and under, saying the move was done out of precaution.

The reason for the pausing is “signals of an increased risk of side effects such as inflammation of the heart muscle or the pericardium” — the double-walled sac containing the heart and the roots of the main vessels, Sweden’s Public Health Agency said in a statement. “The risk of being affected is very small.

Further in article - they recommended Pfizer for this age group -

New preliminary Nordic analyzes indicate that the connection is especially clear when it comes to Moderna’s vaccine, especially after the second dose, the agency said.

“The increase in risk is seen within four weeks after the vaccination, mainly within the first two weeks," it said.

The Swedish agency said the vaccine from Pfizer is recommended for these age groups instead. Its decision to suspend the Moderna vaccine is valid until Dec. 1.

When he was a baby and got the MMR vaccine he ended up with Encephalitis.

We decided he should get vaccinated because the risk of getting Delta was just too high. He had no side effects other than the typical ones that most people end up with.

An older nurse trainer is quite upset that current practice seems to skip the step called “aspiration” where you pull back on the plunger to insure no blood appears. In admittedly rare instances (I think they said 1 in 10,000) the medication could be introduced into the bloodstream rather than the muscle? Which could lead to organ (heart) inflammation, they say. They don’t say it is a complete explanation for the data, however.

3. But - then why would Pfizer be safer for this age group?

Maybe because Pfizer has way less spike protein. What you say sounds like it probably has some truth to it though.
