The only reason McConnell is offering any kind of a deal on debt limit right now

is because he's deathly afraid that this time the Democrats will ACTUALLY take away the filibuster for this issue.
And if it goes away here it will be easier to take it away everywhere permanently later.
Mitch knows this.
That's it.
The only reason.
Mitch needs that filibuster to destroy Democrats and their agendas.

Not a bad idea to carve out the filibuster so as to not default on the debt TFG incurred. Alexander Of Assyria Oct 2021 #2

I believe that Mitch wants the Dems to do a special carve out of the filibuster. Then "when" he is back in power in the Senate, he can ditch it altogether and force through his toxic legislation. He will claim that the Democrats did it first, so he's justified in expanding it. Just as he did with SCOTUS nominations. He forced Harry Reid to do a carve-out for Obama's judges, then he blew the whole thing up for SCOTUS.

Who the hell knows what McConnell is doing? Whatever it is, it's not good.

But I wouldn't be surprised that he'd be happy to pass some toxic right wing legislation too.

Then carve out another drumstick on voting rights, for starters, then save the rest of the turkey for leftover carving.

McConnell listens to the business interests. I imagine they’ll do poorly if the country goes into default. So, he smears the Dems again and again and will eventually pass something because he’s a good dog and will bow to the donors. The question is why we don’t smear the ever living fuck out of every last Republican we can spot? They’re not friends or colleagues. They’re fascist fucksticks and should be identified as such.

was previously incurred and this is just the bill coming due. That's even simplistic enough for the cult to follow. You charge on the credit card, then the bill arrives. Don't spend the money if you don't want to pay the bill and Trump did plenty of spending and Mitch put his stamp of approval on it.
