I am listening to Sen. Whitehouse on msnbc just now. He said --the latest is that McConnell 'folded" [went on to at this will give time for getting Biden agenda passed]
@SenDuckworth
: I think it's great that (McConnells) folded and we're gonna move our agenda and we're gonna take care of the debt ceiling and then we're going to go on and pass infrastructure.
Were not gonna do reconciliation.

(8,286 posts)McConnell definitely was trying to do everything he can do to either derail or weaken the reconciliation bill.... Glad he caved!

Mitch folded and we have until December to do Build Back Better. And we will.

(43,123 posts)I think he "folded" for now to relieve the bad publicity. So some folks think the issue has gone away. When Mitch revives his opposition in December there will be that much less bad publicity and the holidays will distract, so he'll have a stronger hand.
And please know that he has delayed it into an issue for 2022.

(53,764 posts)Both parties routinely up the debt limit when time comes for it. McTurtle tried this gambit of not signing on and trying to force Dems to go the reconciliation route. Biden called his bluff and now he looks stupid.
He's evil all right but not as smart as he thinks he is. He's so miserable calling the shots as majority leader so does whatever he can to disrupt the president's agenda.

Once again, republicans have no sense of consequences, I wonder how the still have toes on their feet, they continually shoot themselves on the foot. What a disgrace of human beings these rats are...Oh, that is right, they are not human beings, they are rats.
