I'm one of the most Pollyannaish posters on this board but the party and Joe definitely need some wins. That should be empirically obvious to anyone. We need to change the conversation.

As for what we can tout right now, democrats have delivered $1400 per person, a $250 tax credit per child monthly and increased food security

(53,771 posts)but will probably settle at around 2 trillion, and perhaps for 5 years instead of 10 years once Manchin and Sinema finally get a grip.
Then both bills will pass at the end of this month and we'll be on our way with the Biden agenda.

(58,785 posts)on his debt limit brinksmanship. This was after Biden's threat that said we need to consider making a "carveout" of the filibuster so we don't default on paying our bills. He said our play was to push Mitch to the edge until business, foreseeing huge losses if we defaulted, pushed him to fold. He was hoping to somehow force us to use one of our reconciliation cards on funding our bills.
So, still to become official, but looks like some points on the board.
