We are still feeling the effects of the 2010 election

That election was so brutal…it allowed republicans to take over a lot of state legislatures, which allowed them to draw Gerrymandered maps at both the federal, but more importantly state level in 2011, which allowed them to continue their power, which has allowed them to gerrymander the maps again

However 12 of the 15 or 16 Congressional Districts across the state went to the Rs because of gerrymandering.
The Koch Brother's monster step child "ALEX" American Legislature Exchange Council was behind this and
then Gov. John Kasich was well aware of what was happening.

Ever since then thanx to Republican manipulations, hate talk TV, Radio, internet, "Christians," gerrymandering, and just straight up
dumb fucks who live here OH has become north Alabama.

Jim Jordan's district.

I was absolutely shell-shocked after the euphoric high from 2 years earlier.

Gerrymandering has little effect on the national level because both sides do it. Here in CA we have gerrymandered the Republicans completely out of power in the State and picked up a handful of congressional seats. I believe it was D+5 in 2020 and D+9 in 2018 when you compare total % of votes cast to total % of seats won.

2020 Congressional House Elections

D: 51.6% of the votes 51.0% of the seats
R: 48.4% of the votes. 49.0% of the seats
R = +2 seats

2018 Congressional House Elections
D: 54.4% of the votes 54.1% of the seats
R: 45.6% of the votes. 45.9% of the seats
R = +1 seat

When you factor in the 7 mostly Republican states where the lone district is smaller than most, it's basically a wash.
