US is "off-shore" for many EU wealth hoarders. The single biggest cause of world-wide hunger and most other social maldies is the greed and corruption of the 5% at the top of and the evil they do by hoarding their wealth instead of helping their fellow countrymen and women.

the other 95% of the world.

The legal system is definitely not in place to protect the masses.

2. Apples and oranges, mostly

Most European havens have tightened up, and places like Switzerland snd Luxembourg no longer welcome American money of dubious origin. Besides, our taxes are nowhere as high as those in most EU countries. Luxembourg gets more “go straight” pressure from other EU members than South Dakota does from Washington. Also, absence does make the heart grow fonder. Just like a Ukrainian oligarch isn’t about to place his stash next door in Poland, nor is a Florida drug lord likely to deposit a check for $100 million in South Dakota. Even a beginning IRS bureaucrat can follow that trail. But if South Dakota welcomes “foreign investment,” like from the Ukraine, for instance, well why not? Our media won’t know who is behind “Korruptkin and Lotsakashko Industries” in Kiev, and they won’t risk the lives of their three Ukrainian-speakers to find out.

4. Heard nothing from CNN on it and almost nothing on Maddow

not saying CNN never covered it at all, but didn't see it on their prime time coverage, meanwhile the Gabby Petito case still gets plenty of airtime. Disgusting.
