It was a quick easy read. For most of the book, she was devoted to Melania and couldnt stand Jared and Ivanka. Mark Meadows also came off as a jerk. tRump came off as a weird ill-tempered fool who would also use flattery as a form of control. Personally, I think that she could have said a lot more but held back. I also dont believe all of her protests of innocence when clashing with the big bad bully press.
Until the last chapter, she took, what I consider to be, a typical Republican approach and blamed everyone and everything but herself for any mistakes that were made. The ending somewhat mollified that, but her Republicanness did shine through.
All in all I enjoyed the read. The tRump chaos was definitely alarming, and it was interesting to get her perspective on how Melania handled it.

(3,385 posts)I have always wondered why she didn't give press conferences. Did she ever explain why in the book?

(8,816 posts)...I've read articles about her where she claims that she never held a press conference because she didn't want to be put in a position where she had to lie or say something outrageous on Trump's behalf. Whatever.

Like she wasnt gonna answer any questions then. She was the press secretary. Her job was to answer questions from the press. Typical Republican thinks they dont have to do their job.

(20,607 posts)complain about the "big, bad bully press" when she never even attempted to deal with them directly, in the traditional setting?

I'm with Colbert on this one.

(4,845 posts)I hate the crazy Trump cultist but I also hate these people who saw the chaos but didn't speak up about it at the time. If you see a fire or a crime in progress, do you wait till the event is over and then write a book about the event to make money off it? The right thing to do is to speak up at the time.

(9,998 posts)Hearing how she describes what she "supposedly" thought was so wrong about the daily occurrences, yet she still dutifully stuck around the entire 4 years, makes me think SHE was as much a part of the problem as he was. She's nothing more than an enabler, now trying to rewrite her role, and shock us with what she has to reveal.
Fuck Her!

(21,533 posts)Does she have any redeeming qualities? She seems shallow, self centered and boring.

(1,477 posts)friendship than there was. Stephanie also blamed the press for Melanias negative publicity issues. She also felt that Melanias accent held her back. In my opinion, Melania came off as uncaring and lazy. Too lazy to think things through like when she wore the I dont care jacket.

(2,083 posts)her book is nothing beyond and attempt to make herself look better and excuse her inaction until now.. No different than any of the rest of the t-rump toadies. Plus making a lot of money.
