Thanks for your concern, Mittens
I guess Mitt Romney, who managed to win the first two Republican presidential nominating contests despite saying some pretty strange things, must think hes onto a good thing. So hes saying more bizarre things.
Recently hes been accusing President Obama of practicing the bitter politics of envy because he dares to point out that the middle class is struggling while the rich are getting more rich than they are all the time. Its called income inequality. Mr. Romney says it is class warfare. I guess that depends on which end of the inequality youre on.
Today, on NBC he repeated that charge after winning the New Hampshire primary. His interviewer asked if there was ANY circumstance under which its ok to talk about income inequality.
Mr. Romney replied: I think its fine to talk about those things in quiet rooms and discussions about tax policy and the like. But the president has made it part of his campaign rally. Everywhere he goes we hear him talking about millionaires and billionaires and executives and Wall Street. Its a very envy-oriented, attack-oriented approach and I think it will fail.
Quiet rooms. Where exactly are those? In libraries? Pre-schools? On the Acela train? The Hampton jitney?

OP
In the NHL, the "quiet room" is where they send you to evaluate you for a concussion.

That is Romney's weak spot. He is at the top of the upper 1% and he likes it there.

Hard for me to shake the image!

(25,966 posts)2. All this rude populism makes the Mittster uncomfortable
Economics is for quiet, well tailored rich white men, in overstuffed chairs and expensive wine and shit.
We aren't supposed to burden our little minds with how well our overlords are living.

Let's see his tax returns.
