When you witness stupidity live, you appreciate the fact they muted the ability to speak and shut off video to the audience.
Set the scene: HR Manager meeting providing updates to non HR staff regarding Bidens vaccine requirement for our company.
They did allow live chat questions after they shared that they will be requiring vaccination status to be submitted by all employees. Vaccines strongly recommended. If you dont get vaccine then you will need to submit weekly COVID tests before allowed on campus. Masks required for all employees no matter of your vaccine status if on campus.
Questions in chat:
1. Where do I submit my religious or medical exemption? I would be shocked if that person crossed the threshold of a church prior to COVID or went to a dr in last 12 months.
2. The vaccine was not approved by FDA. Referenced a website proving their fact.
3. Are you paying for COVID tests of unvaccinated?
4. Thats a HIPAA violation for asking for my status.
5. They made the vaccine with aborted babies.
6. Are you going to fire people for non compliance?
Proud to work for a company from day 1 implemented xtra PTO for COVID impacted ees. Got 99.9 percent of ees set up to work from home. Paid 100 percent medical if impacted with COVID. Im one of the lucky people afforded ability to work from home.
Company is now slightly dropping a hammer with more to come. No longer giving extra PTO and paying medical related expenses if not vaccinated. Writing on wall we will need to be vaccinated or be terminated. They havent gone there yet but I see it coming.
My company is basing their decisions on Federal mandates and CDC guidelines.
To those asking stupid questions on the call, your freedom is not being taken away. The safety of employees and continuity of the org to meet the needs of our customers is what is affording us freedom now and into the future.

(7,412 posts)Great question. Ask that one during your upcoming job interviews, asshat.
In fact, that's a good rule of thumb. Don't ask your employer any questions that you wouldn't ask during a job interview. Because in this day and age, every day is sort of like an interview to keep your job.

(25,848 posts)that I had no idea he or she was a Christian Scientist. That's the only one out there that actually turns completely against all medicine or doctors.
As for medical exemption, there is hardly anyone who actually has a condition that would keep them from getting the vaccine.

Maybe a religious exemption from quarantine for someone with a contagious disease attending their services?
You can't deny my right to worship!

Some kids still get mumps, measles, chicken pox.

(45,427 posts)as they get weeded out. I was already vaccinated last spring and my work is covered under the president's executive order. But my company recently mandated it for everyone worldwide with terminations starting next month. Our subcontractors are a risk, and there are many, so I would still mask indoors.
I can understand legit medical exemptions but don't believe in any legit religious exemptions. People have gotten many other vaccinations before using the exact same technology as J&J if they are afraid of the FDA approved MRNA vaccines. Antivax conservatives are welcome to go the way of the dodo.

(5,117 posts)That these are the same kinds of people who keep wailing about the 'horrors' of corporate regulation... until a particular business does something they don't like. I hate to break it to all those MAGA snowflakes, but a private business can pretty much do what it wants when it comes to setting policy in their own establishments. Just as one can be hauled out the door for not wearing a shirt, or soliciting in their foyer, one can be kicked to the curb for not following employer guidelines (as long as they are legal, but that's another story for another time).

(6,679 posts)Several in my extended family work in offices that house upwards of 2000+ in the same building. When this started each of them got people set up from home and expect to continue on a hybrid model.
All of them are in various stages but the general direction is vaccine or weekly tests required to access the building.
One of the companies plans to have each team in office 2 days a week which cuts capacity by half. New work spaces were built to reduce exposure. Masks mandatory.
