As a teacher with a heart condition, I qualified as "high risk."
Went to local drug store, got the flu & Covid at the same time.
Boy, was I ever sore in upper half of my body! Wiped me out for most of Saturday, but was feeling fine Sunday morning.
Definitely happy for the extra precaution. Several of my students this semester have come down with Covid.

I cant imagine being a teacher nowadays stuck in a room full of people for several hours and you dont know whos vaccinated, who isnt, who might be sick, etc. Plus the idiot anti-maskers. You sure have to protect yourself!

(14,642 posts)I went last week, after my wellness check, but I was 4 days early. So I made an appointment. PCP doesn't want me to get them at the same time, or I would! So I'll get my booster first and then flu shot in a few weeks.
So glad you got them both! A few sore days ain't nothing compared to getting sick.

(10,144 posts)We had a big line at the vax clinic. NM is doing a good job in fighting the pandemic under Gov Lujan Grisham's leadership. I want to see covid-19 in the rearview mirror.

I will never ever understand anti vaccine types, especially health care folks who really should know better. I have had zero side affects for the first two shots, assume it will be the same with the booster.
I keep thinking Thank God there was no Social Media when the Polio, Measles, etc vaccines emerged.
