So, what happens when there is no deal on BBB by Oct 31?

I’m pretty sure Manchin and Sinema are not going to support any compromise. Manchin might yield for a modest package. Sinema, I seriously doubt.

So then what? Another deadline? I doubt that too.

Most likely course is the bipartisan bill passes once progressives get confirmation that the deal ain’t happening. Then the debt ceiling is raised through reconciliation.

Wondering what others here think…

That I always do to hope (and work) for the best, but always prepare for the worst. The sooner we know Manchin and Sinema aren’t going to play ball, the better off we’ll be. The longer this is drawn out, the bigger and more memorable the failure will be.

that some version of the social infrastructure bill will pass. It definitely won’t be for 3.5 trillion but I do believe something will come to Biden’s desk.

Just said Dems are divided on how to pare the bill down to 2 Trillion which is the suggested new top line number. He said there is no commitment from the two Senators in the Senate.
