Manchin, Sinema, and several Republicans should be _begging_ to vote for the bill by now

Biden or his surrogates should be LOUDLY badmouthing them up and down America - they are keeping us Americans from actually getting something back for our tax dollars. They are harming us. They are anti-American. They are corporate stooges. By the end of it, they should be so lucky as to be ALLOWED to vote for the bill given the public shellacking they would be taking . . .

in my dreams. In a functioning democracy.

made it clear that for the infrastructure reconciliation bill they won’t accept the 3.5 trillion bill

Manchin threw out a 1.5 trillion figure. Perhaps it can be negotiated somewhat higher, but it won’t be anything close to 3.5 trillion

People can point fingers of blame at each other, but that won’t change anything either

The two bills need to be passed, and it needs to soon if it is going to happen.

With energy and food prices increasing, that in itself can hurt us in the midterms, but add in no deal on the two infrastructure bills, and the midterms will be a disaster for us

Republicans.

I feel badly that Sinema and Manchin can’t see that they are pawns in this.

When we become the minority again in less than 2 years, in both houses, they won’t have the audience they do now. They will become invisible because we won’t be holding our breath and praying that they vote to help the American people. They will just be 2 Democrats who’s vote will be drowned out by the Republican onslaught of obstruction, corruption and destruction.

This is one of the few forums where I can be honest and defeatist when things look bleak. I am not giving up, but even Josh Marshall is saying we are being way too unrealistic in what we hope to accomplish with the Infrastructure bill.

Doesn’t seem to matter how hard we work, we lose ground faster that we make gains.

Hopefully this post doesn’t get flagged. I’m just plain fed up with all of it.

people here realize by now.

The Virgina Governor race is November 2, which is just a few weeks away, and if there is no deal on the infrastructure bills, I suspect this will hurt us there.

just because we rightly criticize bad actors in our party.

Those who cape for those bad actors know exactly what they are doing.

My criticisms about certain Dem politicians because I really enjoy this site.
It would be hard to lose my ability to post.

Wish we had a ‘carve out’ for exceptions to the flag for criticizing the bad actors in Congress. Oh well, play by the site rules!!

I sent you a DU email……

A majority, 57%, don’t know any specifics that it contains. There’s a failure in the messaging for sure, mostly all I see in the news is the price tag.

of the package it's what's in it.
Manchin is full of coal so he's not going to vote on anything green that takes away coal and all that black stuff.
Simena is full of pharma she's not going to vote on anything that has the government in charge of drug prices.

Unless those two things are taken out it's not going to pass. This is all my opinion
