This is the veterinary clinic where I've always taken my pets. Half of their employees (unvaccinated) have to quarantine until October 21.
I haven't been there in quite awhile, but I can pretty much guarantee that they didn't require masks. They serve a lot of ranchers, and most of them are repukes.
So, I guess people just better hope for the best if their pets, horses, cows, pigs, sheep, etc., need care.

And their hate will be sharpened.

(8,445 posts)I'm sure the clinic will raise their prices now, so that's going to hurt a lot of people and animals.
But, y'know, "freedom" and "rights", so they will continue in their stupid and dangerous ways.

(11,639 posts)For over a year no pet owners were allowed in the office at all. You brought your cat in a carrier, dogs on a leash. Someone from the clinic met you in the parking lot and took your pet in. Payment and diagnosis and instructions were done by phone. But now you can come in with your pet if youre masked.

(6,793 posts)delay in services. Taking Alex in on Friday for a recheck on his itchy toe problem. No more toe licking, guess we solved the problem.

(7,473 posts)North of Boston, notices appear on local pages(as of last week) that there are no more appointments available at any of the local Vets. There is a major veterinary hospital about 40 miles from here...no appointments available as of last week.
Our pets are family. This is a crisis of another sort.
Add to that, there is already a shortage of certain pet foods.
Since my kitty will not eat anything else but this one(flavor) product if I don't get it now, both the kitty and I will have a real problem.
Who would have believed it? Cat Food? 10 years, same food. How do you address that with an old cat who is very picky. I've tried every cat food on the market. Nope!.
Shelter kitty must have been very spoiled during her life before I adopted her.
I can't imagine what it will be like if Purina and other pet food providers cannot produce enough for us to feed our pets.
