Study calls Connecticut safest state amid COVID-19 pandemic

Connecticut is currently the safest state in the country based on COVID-19 metrics, according to an analysis published Tuesday by the personal finance website WalletHub.

The WalletHub study — based on vaccination rate, positivity rate, hospitalization rate, death rate and estimated transmission rate — found Connecticut in the best shape, followed by Massachusetts, California and Rhode Island. Wyoming, West Virginia and Idaho were the least safe states, according to the WalletHub methodology.

“I’m incredibly proud that Connecticut is the safest state during the pandemic,” Gov. Ned Lamont tweeted Thursday. “We’ve worked hard to protect lives and livelihoods.”

As of Wednesday, Connecticut had reported the fewest COVID-19 cases per capita of any U.S. state over the past week.

3. That is current. But look at the methodology. This "study" is not limited to current transmission

in calculating overall standings, but throughout the pandemic.

CDC and FL Dept of Health have been at loggerheads throughout because of the politicization of their data by DeSantis, failure to report as agreed upon through the state pacts (CSTE), and "re-defining" of their metrics so as to be incomparable. They underreport deaths dramatically and those they do report are weeks behind.

The right wingers are gnashing their teeth and calling him a Fascist, but he’s having none of it. The COVID restrictions here have been very well done.

....both in the primary campaign against Ned Lamont and the general election campaign. I thought he was a very good governor, did a great job of turning the state around after two decades of republican governors and Rowland's corruption.

As it turns out now, Ned Lamont is doing a much better job and probably has been the most effective governor in containing COVID.
