It occurs to me that firing Vaccine refusers in the Military and Police

is a great way to thin out the right-wingers in both organizations. So, I'm in favor of doing just that.

"No Vaccine? You're Fired! Good luck in your future endeavors..."

Simple and clean. They're really removing themselves from those organizations, and that's a good thing all around

Of course we make fun of them, but all the rampage looting and burning happened in the cities. It never happens in little redneck towns. Maybe being out of the way of the city and armed to the teeth has its perks. Ain’t nobody gonna march down Cornfield Town’s Main Street and set a fire, cause they know how the locals will react.

During the summer many companies were giving employees time off to get vaccinated. Then they gave employees a deadline - you must be vaccinated by THIS date. After that, you're gone!

The shocker is when you realize these people would rather lose their jobs than be vaccinated. They won't get hired somewhere else either. I'm sure from now on, every company will require new applicants to be vaccinated before they even apply for a job.

The military simply cannot tolerate willful disobedience of lawful orders. A service member who would refuse a lawful order to get a shot cannot be trusted to obey an order when lives are at stake.

Any service member who refuses to be vaccinated should be charged with disobedience and given the option of an other than honorable discharge or a court-martial.

79. There is one downside in this for the Dems :
Tue Oct 19, 2021, 01:18 AM
Oct 2021

I am beginning to see the long-game strategy for the Republicans -- a strategy which is, of course,
is cynical and despicable.

They are planning to die on the hill of "anti-vax" lunacy, no matter the human cost.

Follow the steps using the example of police and military mandates:

1) Based purely on political doctrine (brainwashing), many people will refuse to be vaccinated.

2) Reasonable, responsible people (like Biden) and state governments (i.e. NOT Texas, Florida, etc.)
will be forced to mandate vaccinations because COVID is a public health emergency that effects everyone,
and it is a drag on every aspect of our society.

3) Given the choice of compliance or expulsion, these anti-vax cement-heads will choose expulsion.

4) They will portray themselves as being victims of "the gubmint", rather than as volunteers for stupidity.

5) The RW liars will spin it as: "Joe Biden is forcing people out of police and military service (victims),
which leaves the country vulnerable and unprotected (always go for the fear and paranoia angle)"

They will blame struggling local economies, unemployment numbers, school closings, and anything else they
can think of, on vaccine mandates. Meanwhile, no one is paying attention to their campaign against voting rights.

We NEED to purge the right wingers from positions where they interact with the public and these asses are clearly not caring one bit if they kill folks by Covid. Despite potential issues, I agree that this is a very necessary step.

I do have concerns about an unemployed right wing force of middle aged crazy men, but hopefully this won't metastasize into something bigger and more violent. Hopefully they have enough concern for their families that they will take other jobs and not spend all their time training for 2024. I'd be a lot more concerned if this were happening in 2023, though. Two years is a long time.

I mean, I don't know you here on DU, so I have no idea what leads you to that conclusion. What about my post is ridiculous? Why do you think it's cynical?

The reality of it is that almost all vaccine refusers in the military and law enforcement are right wingers. It happens, then, that if they do not get vaccinated, they could be fired. That would remove a good number of right-wingers from their positions in law enforcement and the military.

I see that as a good result, as I said in my post.

So, you disagree, but your curt message has no information in it other than your disagreement. Please elaborate.
