even wrote a book about it - The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin' Dixie Outta the Dark

It's alright for a first book, repeats quite a bit. One bit I really liked was he was talking and said that a lot of parents pushed their kids into football/sports as a way out of poverty. He stated, you know, pushing your kids to read books is a great way also.

He worked at Obama's Energy Dept.

You know he’s had to overcome a lot of peer pressure to avoid becoming a good old boy and his words carry more weight because of it. I really appreciate his perspective and the way he shares it.

A "protest" is an intended statement. No indication this isn't just moving to more valuable job opportunities.
