What happens if the Republicans win the House in 2022?

Biden would become a "caretaker" President? He would only be holding the office until 2024 when someone else would take over?

But, he would still be the President until 2024 and he would still have the Justice Department, even if the Republicans were to shut down the Select Committee. There can be a lot of evidence gathered in one year. The DOJ will not stop doing their job just because the House switches Parties.

If he wanted, the AG could appoint a Special Counsel, along the lines of a John Durham, that would stretch even beyond the 2024 election.

But, it would be a good omen for the country if the people threw the Republicans out of office in a large number.

We did have a mandate from the voters. And overwhelming majority voted for Democrats in 2020. We got a quit acting like wimps

It’s a given, written in stone and in every political news story that the party in power always ALWAYS loses in the midterms … it’s being written now, 1 year out that the Democrats will lose the House, because … well, that’s the way it’s always been don’t ya know?
It just is … 🤨

I just get sick of reading it, like it’s political bedrock, like night follows day …
What I’d like to see is Dems keep the House, ridding emptygreene, bangbang bobert, pedogaetz, and a few more, gaining seats, and the Senate gain several seats, and put that political nugget of loss at the midterms to rest…
It will also speak volumes of fatnixon’s chances in 24 ….

Guy’s gotta dream

I don't really remember them predicting that the Republicans would lose the House in 2018. They probably did, somewhat, just to cover themselves, but they weren't salivating at the idea like they are now!

I am cautiously optimistic about 2022. The hardcore anarchists who came out of the woodwork to vote for Trump, and in the process voted for a lot of Republicans who they'd probably never heard of, have demonstrated that their loyalty is to Trump - NOT to the Republican party. In fact, many of them hate the Republican Party for not being draconian enough, if you can imagine.

Those people didn't vote in 2018. They didn't vote in the Senate runoffs in Georgia. Without Trump on the ballot, they won't vote in 2022. And the Republicans can forget about Trump helping them to get out the vote. He's not interested in that, because he can't make it all about him.

They have a lot to answer for regarding Jan 6th attempt to overthrow our Government and install TFG
basically as king. Plus their voting records show they don't want anyone looking into what happened that
day. Repugs only have 2 Senators (Romney, Murkowski) and 2 Reps (Cheney, Kinzinger) willing to stand
up for the truth of the big lie. Rest of them are cowards because they're afraid of tfg's wrath for not
being loyal. R's unhappy with congress people not standing up for truth & justice will vote against them.
Plus R's who lost loved ones to the virus will be questioning the "masks/vaccines are bad" attitude
coming from the right. Moderate R's will be voting with us, MAGAts will never.

Even with their cheats, they aren't gaining new ground, members or elections. The GOP is a party for losers.

I'd like to think Trump was the wake-up call that non-voters needed to see that voting does matter & that there is a difference between the two parties. We'll see. New voters are fickle. People who haven't been involved in the political process over time, often get discouraged when change doesn't happen quickly enough. I post the below graphic to remind everyone, especially new voters, how it really works.

I realize that is due mostly to Repugs stymying things but we have a few Dems that have no problem shooting us in the foot too. My son, in his late 20s, has had two close friends move out of the country because they see more hope in the EU than here in the US. I wish I could say I think they are wrong.
