Orion: Nasa's Moon ship ready to be attached to rocket

https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-58965610

On Monday, the Orion spacecraft was moved between buildings at Florida's Kennedy Space Center ahead of being lifted on to the powerful Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.

For its upcoming flight, Orion will fly around the Moon without astronauts.

It's part of a US plan to return people to the lunar surface this decade.

This programme is called Artemis - after the sister of Apollo - and could help establish a long-term human presence on Earth's only natural satellite.

I still cannot quite get over the surprise and happiness when I see a woman raised into higher positions. This would be awesome.

for nothing. There were very few opportunities for women when I was in school, teacher, nurse secretary, and the ever present housewife. Fortunately there were a few female photographers for role models, and that’s what I went on to be. I hope the girls in school, who saw me working as a staff photographer, know that they can do whatever they set their mind to.

I graduated from High School in 1971. I still could not have a checking account unless my dad signed on to it. No credit cards. I missed having to wear white gloves at college by one year. Helen Reddy blew my mind. It has been a very long journey for women. I am so pleased to see all the women that Joe Biden has called upon. I fear the falling back but I think we can out do the bad guys.

NASA and SpaceX are both far better than the "Old Space" good ol' boy network was.

I'm less confident in Orion and SLS themselves. Both have been major, costly clusterfucks. I hope Boeing, et al, get their shit together soon.
